Colgate to the Max (#2)

Colgate to the Max (#2)

This was a random shot that I got at the Galactic show here in Nashville. I love it when I stumble across interesting subject material (aka druged out people) that want to have their pictures taken. It makes photography much easier.

This is one of the Wooten brothers (related to Victor Wooten, the bassist for the Flecktones). I don't know if this encapsilates the stlye of music they were playing well of not, but (after looking at it for a while) I found this picture to provoke a sense of music well. I am becoming more content with my sense of composition recently.

I don't know what it is about this shot, but it evokes a calming emotion in me. It reminds me of the serenity I find while driving in the country. I don't think that this is one of my most interesting shots, but it makes me feel so I have decided to post it.

Murfreesboro Mornings

Sequence Sunrise (16)

As you can tell, I am a huge fan of sunsets, but I am going to mix it up with this shot. This is a sunRISE (oh yeah... mixin' it up... keepin' you on your toes) that I took a while back. There has been minimal post-processing done to this shot (aka, no photoshop). This was the straight shot that I took one morning that Alex and I had stayed up all night. For personal reasons, I felt that this morning at 6:45 was the perfect time to post this.

If I'm not mistaken, this bolt made me question my sanity a little. It hit fairly close. On a different note, I apologize for the "grainyness". I was using 800ISO film when I should have had no more than 200. Learned my lesson.

If anyone feels like commenting, tell me which shot you prefer between the two lightning bolts. Hell... tell me anything you do or don't like in all my shots for that matter. Thanks.

Fire on the Mountain...

Fire on the Mountain...

My first attempt at lightning photography. I chased this storm from Nashville to Oak Ridge for about 2 hours. I finally found a nice open spot (not exactly the easiest task in East TN) and was able to capture this.

must admit that I am not the biggest fan of children. I'm sure that there are psychological reasons, some of which I am aware of and some of which I may not be, why I feel this way. None-the-less, there are moments that anyone who has a heart recognizes as beautiful. This was one of those moments. No matter how much I dislike the smell of diapers or the wail of a temper-tantrum, a smile was plastered across my face while watching this interaction of a mother and her son. I feel that this picture slightly gives that moment justice.

I'm attempting to get into portraits a little more. I love the look on this childs face, and I'm stoked that his parents were cool enough to let me take a couple shots. He's going to be a damn good climber if he sticks with it.
